About us
From a Humble Beginning
It was in 1988 when a group of young professionals aspired of modernizing the telecommunications industry of the Philippines. They had nothing but great ideas and strong conviction in pursuit of their dream. As with any journey, they needed directions and consulted a research practitioner who agreed to make a study on the group’s forthcoming business holding only a promise to be awarded his professional fee once the project succeeds. The study was given a codename “Project Smart”. The dreamed business took off in 1989 and became Smart Communications, Inc. headed by the group leader Mr. Doy Vea. In 1994, the research practitioner who prepared the first business plan of Smart Communications, Inc. decided to put up his own research company and called it Sound Market and Technical (SMART) Research Services. That research practitioner is Mr. Dondon Canales, the President and Board Chairman of SMART Research Services, Inc.

SMART Research Services, Inc. was put up mainly to fulfill our dedication in conducting genuine research work. Doing honest-to-goodness research work and receiving accolades from highly satisfied clients are our main sources of pride and strength. Monetary return is just secondary. Hence, each project is done with uncompromising integrity and high quality. Our client’s goal becomes our goal. The quality of our work comes from trust in our company and our ability to deliver on the partnership as we aim for long-lasting relationship.
